Alcohol Rehab in Orange County
Alcohol is one of the most accepted intoxicating substances in the world. In fact, 58% of the U.S. population regularly drinks, and an estimated 17% regularly binge drinks. Most of this drinking is seen as normal, even social, a necessary aspect of going out and having a good time with friends and family. But, what happens when it’s more than that? For the 6.2% of the U.S. population addicted to alcohol, drinking is life-changing and life-ruining. Alcohol-use disorder is a behavioral disorder impacting every aspect of the affected person’s life, health, and livelihood. And, for the 88,000 people who die of alcohol-related problems each year, life-ending.
We’re often taught to hide alcoholism and substance abuse. But, with 14.4 million U.S. adults suffering from alcohol use disorder, you’re not alone and there’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Millions of people struggle with the same problems. Unfortunately, only 19% of us ever go on to seek alcohol treatment. That’s heartbreaking, considering alcohol is one of the leading causes of preventable death and illness in the United States, and treatable using modern rehabilitation methods including behavioral therapy and counseling.
At TruVida Recovery, we know that alcohol use disorder is a complex, personal problem that requires persistence, customized care, and empathy to treat. At our Alcohol Detox Orange County center, we utilize licensed therapists and medical professionals as part of our alcohol rehab offered here in Orange County to ensure that every patient receives the best in evidence-based therapy. We focus on treating causes, so our patients can fully recover and get back to their lives. No one chooses to become addicted, but we offer the tools that allow you to choose to get sober.

Your Treatment Options at TruVida Recovery
Intensive Outpatient / Partial Hospitalization
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is held at our office in Orange County, where patients have access to our clinicians, therapists, and medical doctors. Treatment begins with either a preliminary bio-psycho-social assessment, followed by a custom program designed to help each patient make the most of our services. Patients typically attend counseling and therapy sessions for 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week. They can otherwise go home, go to work, and attend to responsibilities, and continue daily life. Outpatient and partial hospitalization treatment options are ideal for individuals with lighter addictions, those who have already undergone residential treatment and want to transition back into daily life, and for anyone who needs treatment and who otherwise wouldn’t have the time or budget to seek it out. Intensive Outpatient treatment is effective for anyone not struggling with motivational issues.

Residential
Residential treatment is conducted in-house at our Orange County alcohol rehab facility. Here, we offer intensive patient care, designed to ensure every patient has everything they need to fully recover. This begins during detox, when patients experience 1:1 patient/staff ratios, checkups, and monitoring by medical staff and trained psychologists. This ensures your alcohol recovery journey begins as smoothly as possible, with the least chance of a complex or traumatic detox phase as possible. From there, patients are moved into one of our residential rooms (Shared or private), where they have access to an intensive course of therapy, counseling, group therapy, complementary therapies, and medical attention. The residential alcohol rehab program is 6 days per week, 6 hours per day, and lasts 3-6 weeks depending on individual progression. Afterwards, we recommend that patients move into an intensive outpatient program.
Residential treatment allows patients to step away from stress and daily responsibilities during treatment. This means you can focus on recovery and not on life. And, it allows us the time and opportunity to monitor progression, responses to therapy, and results, so that we can offer a highly personalized alcohol rehab program.
While you likely have an idea of which treatment option you want to seek out, we will recommend solutions to you based on your initial assessment. You can also contact us at 800-218-1573 for a consultation and more information.
The Alcohol Treatment Process at our Orange County Alcohol Rehab
TruVida Recovery offers personalized care using science-based therapy and treatment. Our holistic approach focuses on using patient customization and assistance, low patient/staff ratios, and an empathetic approach to offer a unique experience to every patient in our care. Recovering from an alcohol use disorder is a long journey and with us, you begin it with dignity, support, and the best in behavioral therapy and counseling.
If you or a loved one is planning to attend alcohol rehab at TruVida recovery, it’s crucial you know what the process includes and why. The following process covers residential treatment programs at our Orange County alcohol rehab facility. Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs are nearly identical.
Admissions
You begin the admissions process by either calling us at (800) 218-1573 or using our Admissions Form. During this process, we ask for information such as your name, status, insurance, age, and contact details. We’ll help you verify that your insurance provider offers coverage, and may help you determine what they cover and what types of treatment they cover, so that you can make the best decision for treatment.
Pre-Admissions Screening
We’ll follow up on your initial admissions request with a pre-screening phone call. This typically takes 10-20 minutes and will include a request for personal information such as medical records. Please have them ready following your admissions application.
Intake
Intake includes a screening and admission to a room. Here, our standard rooms are shared with other patients. We recommend this option to offer you the most contact with your peers. However, private rooms are available at an additional charge. All residents are offered 3 meals per day, with accommodations for dietary needs and allergies, plus healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Contact us to arrange travel plans or a courtesy pickup from nearby airports including John Wayne Airport, Long Beach Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Ontario Airport, or San Diego International Airport.
Detox
Most patients moving into our rehab facility will require detoxification. TruVida Recovery offers a full medically supervised alcohol detox program right in our Orange County medical facility. This includes 24/7 medical monitoring, psychological assessments, and support from our counselors and psychologist. Our goal is to ensure your physical and psychological comfort and safety, which is why we check up on you every 30 minutes during the first 48 hours of care, follow up with emotional support, and utilize a 1:1 patient/staff ratio. Your alcohol detox schedule will heavily depend on individual factors such as personal health, mental health, co-occurring disorders (dual diagnosis), and physiology. That’s why at our Alcohol Detox in Orange County, we move patients through detox at their own pace, ensuring that everyone has enough time to fully recover from physical alcohol dependence.
Most patients will experience the following alcohol detox timeline:
- 2-12 Hours – Initial detox begins. Patients begin to experience physical discomfort such as sweating, shaking, headaches, and nausea. Early onset anxiety may also begin at this time.
- 12-48 Hours – Alcohol withdrawal begins and symptoms worsen. Patients with a longer history of drinking, or who drink more, are more at risk, but everyone can experience seizures, hallucinations, tremors, and extreme agitation. It’s crucial that patients receive medical monitoring during this stage to reduce the risk of dangerous side-effects and to prevent harmful seizures, which is why we check up on patients every 30 minutes during this period.
- 48+ Hours – Symptoms plateau or cease to worsen and slowly abate over 4-6 days until gone.
- Plateau – Symptoms typically plateau after the first 48 hours and will slowly begin to abate over the next 4-6 days.
TruVida Recovery will design a personal detox schedule for each patient, determined by their bio, psychological, and physiological assessments. Factors usually include length of abuse, volume of abuse, personal health, and personal mental health. Some patients will need prescriptions to reduce side effects and risks such as seizures.
Detox is often traumatic for patients, so it’s important that you have access to trained therapists and psychologists who can help you. At TruVida, our caring and empathetic staff is here to help you every step of the way.
Alcohol Treatment
Following detox, you’ll be moved into residential treatment, where you’ll attend 6 hours of therapy and classes per day. We utilize individual therapy including CBT, EMDR, and DBT, individual counseling by a Certified AOD counselor, group therapy and counseling, group workshop and learning sessions, individual BioSound Bio Feedback Lounge Therapy, and much more. You’ll also have access to both 12-Step and SMART recovery meetings throughout. We want to ensure that the underlying causes behind your alcohol use disorder are solved, which is why we incorporate science-based therapies like motivational interviewing and CBT to change behavior patterns, rather than just treating symptoms.
Daily Life
Patients stay in alcohol rehab for 3-6 weeks depending on individual progression. You have one day off per week. You also have opportunities to participate in group events and entertainment in your free time throughout the week. This includes swimming, group games and exercises, group workshops, and weekly off-site activities. All meals are delivered by a trained chef in a group environment.
Aftercare
We believe that aftercare is a crucial element of any recovery program. If you step back into your life, you’re likely to step back into the same patterns that resulted in alcohol usage. That’s why we offer help moving into outpatient programs and sober homes, assistance with finding 12-Step and SMART groups to attend, and a full aftercare program to ensure your continued sobriety. It’s crucial to your recovery and it’s part of our service.

How is Alcohol Addiction Treated at TruVida Recovery?
TruVida Recovery is dedicated to providing the best in service and care to our patients. We invest in passionate, empathetic, licensed, and medically trained professionals who want to help. Our rehab programs consist of science-based care, with a history of effectiveness in treating alcohol use disorder.
To that extent, our treatment options include therapy, counseling, and complementary therapies. Every program is designed around the individual, offering the most freedom of choice and quality of care possible.
Personalized Treatment
We begin to learn about you, your medical history, and your history of alcohol abuse before you ever set foot in our Orange County rehab center. We use screenings, medical checkups, and assessments to review your history of alcohol abuse, personality, problems, trauma, mental health, physical health, triggers, and more, so we can build a personal treatment plan around you.
Behavioral Treatment
Behavioral therapy approaches alcohol use disorder from the approach that your behaviors are ultimately responsible for all your actions. These therapies focus on recognizing problematic behaviors resulting in addiction, finding and resolving root causes of those behaviors, and learning new and healthy behavior patterns to replace them. TruVida offers behavioral therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Each of these therapies is delivered by a trained therapist or psychologist, licensed in delivering that therapy in a medical environment.
Behavioral therapy is delivered as individual therapy and as group therapy, with some sessions planned around the individual and others offered as part of our standard rehabilitation track. You will be asked to join and move into different sessions based on progression, problems, and any co-occurring disorders such as PTSD, family problems, etc. This allows us to offer the best quality care for all our patients, with room to support everyone.
Counseling
TruVida’s licensed psychiatrists offer group and individual counseling, with support for motivational coaching, self-esteem coaching, trauma and survival training, and tracts in overcoming addiction, managing cravings, relapse prevention, interpersonal relationships, and more. Counseling is designed to help you build skills and responses to aid in living your life alcohol free, which includes managing stress, jobs, family, relationships, and more.
Medical Monitoring and Treatment
TruVida is fully JCAHO accredited and staffed by licensed nurses and medical doctors. We are fully certified to use pharmacological treatments to help our patients recover. Most alcohol use disorder patients will follow a drug-free path to recovery, but you may be offered prescriptions to assist with seizures, risk of Delirium Tremens, or other particularly severe detox symptoms.
Christian Tract
It’s important that you have the spiritual and social support important for you and your beliefs. That’s why we offer a complete Christian Addiction Treatment Tract for patients wanting to integrate spirituality into their recovery. Patients on this tract can attend sermons at a nearby church and can attend regular 12-Step meetings.
