Drug Rehab in Orange County
For the 18.7 million Americans struggling with a substance use disorder, it can seem like there’s no way out. Substance Use Disorder, or SUD, commonly known as addiction is life changing for the people with the disorder, their friends, and their families. At the same time, modern psychology and modern medical science give us a window into the causes of substance use disorder so that we can treat not just the symptoms of chemical dependence but the underlying causes of addiction. There is hope. And, at TruVida Recovery, that hope takes the form of evidence-based practices including medically supervised detox, CBT and other behavioral therapies, integrating family and spouses, and following up with support groups, contingency management, and long-term support.
Recovering from a drug addiction isn’t easy, that’s why drug rehab needs to take a holistic approach, tackling the root cause of problems to create real change. Our Southern California drug rehab facility uses a broad range of treatment techniques, licensed therapists, medical doctors, and a 1:1 patient/staff ratio to ensure every patient receives the care and support they need. No one chooses to be an addict, but with our help, anyone can choose to recover.
Drug Addiction Treatment at TruVida
Our Orange County drug rehab facility offers a complete rehabilitation service, starting with detox and moving into long-term care and support. Drug rehab is the full process of addiction treatment, moving an individual from having a substance use disorder, through detox, into counseling and therapy, and then back into their life.
At TruVida Recovery, our approach means treating every person like an individual. Drug addiction is complex, interdependent on social, personal, genetic, and economic factors, and often rooted in behavior and patterns that must be changed for the person to recover. We utilize evidence-based practices to treat the whole person, with empathy, understanding, and personalized programs designed to push for growth and change.
Choosing a Drug Treatment Path
It’s important that drug treatment be accessible to the people who need it most. That’s why our Orange County Drug Rehab Facility offers multiple treatment options, designed to meet the needs of different lifestyles. Your responsibilities, career, or family shouldn’t prevent you from seeking treatment. TruVida offers both inpatient and outpatient drug treatment solutions.
TruVida Recovery offers both Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for those who cannot, for any number of reasons, attend full-time residential treatment. Outpatient programs either involve partial stay at our Orange County detox center, or daily visits to meet up with therapists, take part in counseling, treatment, and workshops. Outpatient treatment offers more flexibility, in that we design programs and even visiting hours around your schedule and responsibilities. It also makes treatment more accessible to individuals whose insurance might not cover residential treatment. And, while it doesn’t offer the comfort and personalization of 24/7 medical care, outpatient treatment is effective for individuals who are motivated.
Residential or inpatient addiction treatment takes place at our Orange County drug rehab facility. Here, each patient receives 24/7 medical monitoring, support from our caring staff, and daily group and individual sessions including counseling, therapy, workshops, and treatment from our team of medically certified and licensed clinicians, nurses, therapists, and doctors. Residential therapy means staying at our facility for the full course of treatment, with staff on hand to guide recovery, motivate change, and to steer the path of treatment so that it fully aligns with where patients are at any given time in recovery. Residential treatment allows you to step away from the stressed and patterns of everyday life, giving each person the opportunity to change behavior and patterns before stepping back into it. It’s also the option that offers the most in terms of comfort, medical care, and personalized treatment, because our medical team have more contact and more opportunity to learn from you so that we can adapt treatment to you.
Our Approaches to Treatment
TruVida Recovery is dedicated to providing top quality, evidence-based care, delivered by licensed and trained medical professionals. The staff at our Drug Treatment Centers in Orange County consists of experts who are passionate about what they do, empathetic, and who truly care about helping people.
Our treatment options include evidence-based therapy, counseling, and treatment designed to help every individual tackle the causes and behaviors underlying addiction. Most importantly, treatment programs are designed around the individual, offering support for individual problems, helping each individual to get treatment as they’re ready for it, and ensuring everyone has the right tools to solve their problems and move on.
TruVida offers behavioral therapy solutions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Each of these therapies uses techniques to help individuals recognize and change behavior patterns, develop skills and coping mechanisms, and to change how they perceive life by adjusting behavior.
TruVida delivers behavioral therapy in both group settings and as individual therapy, with progress and program tracts developed for each individual. Therapy sessions and goals are designed around the individual based on their progress and problems, with room for dual diagnosis patients struggling with complications like mental health disorders or PTSD, integrating family, and helping each individual to motivate themselves to change.
Counseling, including individual therapy and group counseling is a crucial part of recovery. TruVida’s licensed psychiatrists offer support for motivational coaching, self-esteem, trauma and survival, overcoming addiction, managing cravings, relapse prevention, interpersonal relationships, and much more. The goal of counseling is to help each individual build valuable skills to navigate the world outside our walls, so they can interact with family, jobs, and stress in a healthy and happy way.
Medical Monitoring and Treatment
TruVida offers medical monitoring and may offer prescription medication or pharmacological treatment at the discretion of our on-staff doctors. Our staff are fully licensed, we are JCAHO accredited, and we are fully certified to use pharmacological treatments to help our patients recover from substance use addiction more comfortably. However, not all patients receive pharmacological treatment. Discuss your treatment options and preferences during intake to determine what’s right for you or your loved one.
Social and Spiritual Support
We understand that recovery isn’t just about healing the mind and the body. It’s also about finding support, social connections, and, where needed, spirituality. That’s why all our patients have access to Smart Recovery and 12 Step groups. We also offer a special Christian Tract, designed to support the needs of our community, so that you receive the support and spiritual care important to you. Social and spiritual support is a significant motivating factor in recovery for many. Most importantly, we also help each individual to follow up by moving them into support groups once they leave our walls.
From 1:1 patient/staff ratios to a focus on personalization, individual progress tracts, and solutions for dual diagnosis, PTSD, and more, our focus is on individual care. There is no one-size fits all drug rehab program, we know that, and we customize our treatment and options to meet individual needs.

What to Expect at TruVida Rehab Center?
If you or a loved one is considering attending drug rehab at TruVida Recovery, it’s important that you know what to expect. Whether you attend an outpatient program or go to our Orange County drug rehab facility, we offer a set process designed to help our medical team learn about our patients and give us the tools to treat you properly.
Intake begins when you call our staff at (800) 218-1573 or use our Admissions form. Here, we ask for basic information such as your name, status, insurance, age, and contact details. TruVida Recovery accepts most major insurance programs, which you can verify with us quickly. Depending on your provider, the rate and types of treatment covered may vary. We can help you determine the best options for your needs during your consultation.
Your initial contact is followed up by a short pre-screening via phone call. This screening typically takes 10-20 minutes. Our medical staff will request personal information including medical records at this time.
In most cases, you can move to our facility on the same day as your original call. Contact us at 800-218-1573 to arrange travel plans or to arrange a courtesy pickup from John Wayne Airport in Irvine CA, Long Beach Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Ontario Airport, or San Diego International Airport.
On intake, you will receive a screening and will be taken to a shared room. Private rooms are available at an additional charge. During your stay, our chef offers 3 nutritious meals per day, with accommodations for dietary needs and allergies, and healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Detoxification can be painful, traumatic, and even life-threatening depending what you are detoxing from. That’s why our Orange County Drug Detox offers medical facilities and 24/7 medical monitoring to ensure your physical, emotional, and psychological health throughout the process. Detox should be the start of your healing, not a new trauma. Detox at TruVida Recovery typically lasts for 3-10 days, and consists of medical checkups, nursing care, and support from our counselors and psychologist. Every patient receives a checkup every 30 minutes during their first 48 hours of care. In every case, your detox schedule will depend on your health, substance use disorder, and mental health.
Following detox, you move into treatment, either leaving our facility to take part in Intensive Outpatient or staying for residential care. At TruVida, drug treatment in our Orange County facilities is about finding long-term approaches to change your life, ensuring that the underlying causes of addiction are fixed, and that you have the tools to move on. Here, we strive to teach new habits, skills, beliefs, and disciplines, using evidence and science-based care. Therapies including motivational interviewing and CBT come together counseling and group therapy to help patients understand why they’re addicted, what contributes, and how to move forward. At this stage, concepts from 12 Step and Smart Recovery are introduced, allowing every patient to choose solutions that meet their needs.
Most of our inpatient clients stay with us for 28+ days, so it’s important that daily life is interesting, stimulating, and rewarding. Our program offers a choice of private or shared rooms, meals delivered by a trained chef, and a variety of entertainment including swimming, group games and exercises, group workshops and classes, and weekly off=site activities.
Aftercare is a crucial aspect of drug rehab. Every patient at TruVida receives aftercare and discharge planning, where we help individuals move back into their lives, take the steps to go to work, create new behavior patterns outside of rehab, and otherwise go back to their life. We believe this is a crucial step for ensuring the long-term success of drug treatment, because the stage of transition is often where you are most stressed and most vulnerable.
